Basic Needs Ministry - Mission Statement

To develop and provide services reducing or eliminating the hardships of poverty. To reach the diverse residents of the communities by partnering with the communities' churches, schools, nonprofits, and government agencies. Basic Needs Ministry will provide for all persons in need without discrimination whether race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, national origin, ancestry, familial status, source of income, or disability of an individual. - Revised and Adopted 11/28/07

Basic Needs Ministry, a public charity, will develop and provide services to reduce or eliminate the impacts of poverty on the homeless, low income, or temporarily financially distressed and primarily rural residents. Its programs will be designed to provide services, while ensuring children and their parents do not have to miss school or work. Hundreds of churches, schools, charities, civic organizations, and government agencies are authorized to refer individuals in need to Basic Needs for services and submit requests for assistance for their organization's special projects.

Mission Statement

Basic Needs Ministry will serve the region centered at Interstate 40 and N.C. Highway 42 by providing free clothing to all residents in need without discrimination whether race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, national origin, ancestry, familial status, source of income, or disability of an individual, through partnering with established community organizations. This service area includes Garner, Clayton, Wilson's Mills, Angier, Willow Springs, Fuquay-Varina, and the area in the center as far south as McGee's Crossroads. Out of service area exceptions will be considered on referrals from the 267 schools, government agencies, churches, fire companies, police and sheriff's departments, and civic organizations that distribute Basic Needs Ministry's free clothing gift certificates. - Revised and Adopted 1/19/06
