Basic Needs Ministry - Find 2008 Gift Certificates

Since May 2003, Basic Needs Ministry provided 20-30,000 gift certificates a year to churches, schools, and agencies to give to needy residents for free clothing. By 2008, the ministry redeemed the certificates for $2 million worth of free clothing. The success of this program and the amount of assistance provided to the community is determined by the efforts of our partners. By using community resources, both new and like-new clothing is provided without church officers meeting to determine how much of the offering to give and school teachers can provide assistance without reaching in their own pocket or dealing with their foundation's paperwork for reimbursements. Basic Needs does not re-interview referrals from Social Service workers, churches, and schools. It does require a legal ID match for all client services.

The following organizations have received and are authorized to distribute Basic Needs gift certificates for 2008. The list is not maintained after new agencies are added mid-year.
