Cleveland Library at 70,000 books and movies in its collection is third largest collection in Johnston County. It is the fastest growing collection in N.C. It is the largest of the 6 independent libraries serving N.C. residents, although one is over 100 years old, charges subscriptions and for loans, and another is funded through the city and county.

Three N.C. county systems report smaller movie collections than the younger independent Cleveland Library. Wake doesn't offer movies and Johnston has been charging for them.

Volunteers pull books to start adding spine labels. This is expected to take 90 days. Patrons wanted large collection of paperbacks to read in the bath, or take to the beach and other vacation spots. Library makes the commitment to their wishes.

Many U.S. libraries will now share their colelctions with Cleveland card holders. Just released books will not be available. Audio and video materials not generally available. Loan time may be limited to 7 days.
