Boxing Books

  1. Banana boxes or similar sized boxes are preferred, but must have a cardboard bottom insert
  2. When stacking, boxes should have the same length and width to ensure stability to stack 8' high
  3. Books must be placed into the boxes flat to avoid breaking the spine when you add 800 pounds on top of the books.
  4. Start by stacking books in each of the four corners of the banana box to ensure strength and rigidity. The length of the book will be placed the same direction as the length of the box. When the four corners are level with the top of the box or up to one inch higher than the sides and all are level, then you may stick books in the middle on their edges, as long as they are not taller than the 4 corners.
