Basic Needs Ministry commits to feed Cleveland Township's needy, ill, and/or infants (infants defined as all children under the age of 18).

Basic Needs Ministry will supply food directly to clients at regularly scheduled hours. The schedule will be made and displayed publicly, so the community is aware of the program. The Food Bank will permit Basic Needs Ministry to serve packaged food to community service volunteers working under the supervision of Haven House, which is authorized on-site service, when the workers have not been properly fed prior to coming on site. The Food Bank will permit volunteers working on-site to drink personal size water/drinks to prevent dehydration until such time as an alternative is offered. The Food Bank will permit qualified food pantry clients to eat food pantry food on-site when working as a volunteer, when no other lunch is available. When the cleint eats on-site, it must be recorded on the cleint's record as an on-site meal.

Basic Needs Ministry will strictly adhere to eligibility criteria for distribution of food that is part of state and/or federal programs. Products will be distributed without adding to, reducing or otherwise modifying the eligibility criteria.

Basic Needs Ministry will distribute all other Food Bank product to all persons who qualify for agency assistance, and the agency will not discriminate against any person based on one's race, creed, national origin, religious affiliation or lack thereof, sex or sexual orientation or disability.

Basic Needs Ministry will maintain the capacity to receive, store, and distribute food safely and efficiently according to Food Bank standards.

Basic Needs Ministry will conform to the guidelines as set forth by the Board of Directors of the Food Bank to maintain its membership status.

Basic Needs Ministry agrees to be a member of and receive services from only one Food Bank.

Basic Needs Ministry agrees to support the Food Bank with a per pound shared maintenance contribution. Shared maintenance is a handling fee that helps to cover part of the Food Bank's operating costs. Currently the fee varies, with most products at $.18 per pound although some product is available at wholesale prices..

Basic Needs Ministry agrees to be licensed or certified by health authorities as required.

Basic Needs Ministry agrees to allow monitoring by Food Bank representatives (staff or volunteer) as requested.

Basic Needs Ministry agrees to limit food requested from the Food Bank to an amount that can be distributed or consumed within a period of 30 days.

Basic Needs Ministry agrees to contact the Food Bank before soliciting food from major donors - manufacturers, processors, distributors, brokers, wholesalers, etc.

Basic Needs Ministry agrees to present an agency identification card for each agency representative who shops at the Food Bank.

Basic Needs Ministry will keep records on clients and on food distribution and make those records available to a Food Bank representative as requested.

Basic Needs Ministry will use Food Bank product only in a manner related to its exempt purpose and solely for the feeding of people in need stated by the agency in its partnership application.

Basic Needs Ministry will notify the Food Bank of any changes in programs, personnel, addresses, contact phone numbers, and e-mail addresses.

Basic Needs Ministry agrees not to sell food received from the Food Bank. A violation may result in suspension or termination.

Basic Needs Ministry agrees not to exchange food received from the Food Bank for goods, services, or donations. A violation may result in suspension or termination.

Basic Needs Ministry agrees not to charge for food served. A violation may result in suspension or termination.

Basic Needs Ministry understands that failing to meet Health Department and/or Food Bank standards governing food storage, preparation, handling, and security may result in suspension or termination.
