Who Makes the Program Decisions? Basic Needs Ministry set up the program and established the guidelines. It selected the initial churches, schools, and agencies to distribute its gift certificates, but others in the service area can ask to join the program. Basic Needs' staff designs the certificates, controls the mailing and distribution, facilitates the redemption, and maintains the records for the agencies and clients. Who Makes the Distribution Decisions? Staff at the churches, schools, and agencies determines the level of need and response, subject to the guidelines. Many folks only need a set or two to replace worn clothing. Who Receives Free Clothing? Gift certificates may be provided to any resident in our service area, who needs clothing, but cannot afford to pay for it. Clients may get up to five sets of clothing in a 30 day period. Fire victims may get up to ten sets of clothing with a fire certificate in addition to their certificates. Substitution is permitted so a person needing shirts instead of a full set of clothing can get his shirts. Fire victims can substitute needed household goods instead of clothing. |
