Basic Needs did not set out to stock household goods for fire victims, but since the community donated the goods. It just made sense to give it to our fire victims. Clothing was our first choice, but not the victims. Plates, glasses, and cookware made sense to us, but they wanted the small appliances, stereos, computers, and televisions. Why not? As long as we have them and they have a valis fire certificate. Our clients have a lot more fun and joy when they find out that we can help. Basic Needs sets a dollar and a time limit to pick up the replacement goods. |
