Basic Needs Ministry - Community Support
Thanks everyone.
It started in early 2003 with a few donations of clothes and some household goods and grew and grew. In 2008, we are expecting 400,000 items of clothing, household goods, and food to arrive. The fire marshal says we still don't have room to take in appliances or furniture. We have thousands of neighbors and friends to thank from Cleveland Township to New Rochelle, New York.
Corporations, churches, and groups have given us cash donations to ensure those in the community, who had needs, would be assisted with clothing, food, books, prescription drugs, and computer experience. Some are listed below.
Hundreds of individuals dropped off their change or sent checks to keep their neighbors from hunger.
Our volunteers may walk in for a few minutes or come back regularly for years. They may do a task and leave without a word. Others will stay for hours and entertain our clients with their cheerful stories. Together it makes this community service work. We may never know the names of our helpers, because some want no recognition.
If we did not list your church or comrporate help, please jog our memory and our fingers to get it keyed in. Individuals were not initially listed to ensure privacy.
